UPDATE ON CARE AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES OF CUSTOMS HEALTH CARE SOCIETY FOR IDPs OF NORTH WAZIRISTAN IN BANNU, KHYBER PAKHTOON KHWA.
Provision of immediate medical and relief supplies to the IDPs of North Waziristan was the main objective of the care and welfare team of Customs Health Care Society (CHCS). Seeing this emergent need, Customs Health Care Society first of all established a medical clinic in Miryan, Bannu which is located only one kilometer away from border of North Waziristan. This clinic has been provided medical facilities to the IDPs as well as the local population since 1st June, 2014. Besides this, the medical team of (CHCS) was immediately rushed to Bannu with ambulance, mobile hospital and relief goods to help the IDPs. 2. The details of medical and relief work so far undertaken by the teams of the Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) in Bannu for the IDPs of North Waziristan is given as under:- i) Establishment of Two clinics / maternity home in Miryan, Bannu. ii) Mobile Medical and Relief Camps. iii) Treatment of 35,000 patients. iv) Distribution of Relief goods (food items, clothes, mosquitoes nets, water coolers, plastic sheets 2,000 gifts packs for children, etc.) worth 10 millions of rupees. v) Arrangement of the water supply in IDPs camps. vi) Ramzan Ration Package for 2,000 families. vii) Distribution of Eid Gifts, new cloths and shoes among IDPs. viii) Provision of 500 Solar Energy and battery fitted fans in order to combat scorching heat and load shedding. ix) Celebration of Eid with IDPs and distribution of sweets. Eid Mela and Eid Daster Khwan for IDPs in Bannu. x) Celebration of Independence Day with IDPs.
